NSW Government rebates
Money off
your upgrade
Under the NSW Government Energy Savings Scheme, households and small businesses can get a discount on a new energy efficient air conditioner, or on replacing an old one with a more efficient model. It is not a cash refund later. The discount comes off the price in your quote.
Who can get it
Households and small businesses across NSW. If your current air conditioner is already energy efficient you may not qualify, because the discount is based on the energy the new system will save.
What it covers
Installing a new energy efficient air conditioner, or replacing an old one with a more efficient model. Not every model is eligible, and the more efficient the model, the bigger the discount and the lower the running costs.
How much
It depends on the model, its size and your job. The NSW Government publishes indicative figures, and the exact amount is set out as its own line in your written quote, so you can see what you are paying.

How it works
Four steps,
no surprises
The paperwork is part of the job. Here is what happens, and when, so the discount is locked in before any work starts.
Measured and checked
At the free measure, Greg or Shaun looks at your current system and the rooms you want to heat and cool, and talks you through which models are likely to qualify.
Paperwork first
You sign a short nomination form before the install starts. The scheme cannot discount work that has already been done, so this step always comes first.
Discount in the quote
Your fixed written quote shows the system, the price and the discount as separate lines. You still pay part of the cost; the scheme requires a minimum payment from you.
Installed and signed off
Our crew installs and commissions the system, takes the photos the scheme asks for, and you sign a short declaration that the job is done. An old unit we replace goes with us.

Ask us directlyIs the rebate paid back to me after the install?
No. Under the NSW Energy Savings Scheme the discount is taken off up front and shown in your quote, so you pay the lower price on the day rather than claiming money back later.
Do I qualify if my air conditioner is fairly new?
Possibly not. The discount is based on the energy the new system will save, so replacing an already efficient unit may not qualify. Replacing an old, inefficient system, or putting an efficient one in where there is none, is where the scheme is aimed.
Can a small business get the discount?
Yes. The scheme is open to households and small businesses in NSW. For larger sites, read our commercial air conditioning page and talk to the office about what applies.
Will I still have to pay something?
Yes. The scheme requires you to make a minimum payment towards the system and the installation. Be wary of anyone offering a completely free air conditioner. A genuine discount appears in a written quote from a licensed installer.
Can I get the discount on work that has already been done?
No. The nomination form has to be signed before the installation begins, and the scheme will not reimburse work that is already finished. That is why we raise it at the measure, not after.
Is the measure and quote really free?
Yes. Greg or Shaun visits, measures up and leaves a fixed written quote at no cost and with no obligation. If you decide not to go ahead, that is the end of it. No pushy follow-up.
How do I find out which specials are on?
This page is kept to what is running now. Offers change through the year, and Daikin in particular runs seasonal promotions, so call the office on 02 4951 4522 or ask at the measure for anything new.
