My TOZER team were on time, courteous, put down and taped floor mats, tidied up and swept the floor when finished. They explained what was happening and answered my questions.

Maitland & Hunter Valley
Sized for
valley weather
Maitland does not get the sea breeze. Summer afternoons run several degrees hotter than Newcastle, and winter mornings in the valley bring frost. A system sized for the coast will struggle here, so we size for the valley.
The Maitland area has two very different kinds of home. The new estates at Thornton, Chisholm, Gillieston Heights, Aberglasslyn, Rutherford and Huntlee are mostly single-storey brick veneers with good roof space, where ducted is the natural fit and can often go in on a single day. Then there are the heritage homes of Lorn, Morpeth, East Maitland and Central Maitland, with high ceilings, timber floors and rules about what can go on the front of the house, where a carefully placed split or multi-split is usually the answer.
Both get the same treatment: Greg or Shaun measure in person, the system is sized for a 40-degree afternoon and a frosty July morning, our own crews install it from stock held ten minutes away at Beresfield, and it carries our 5-year workmanship warranty on top of the manufacturer's.
- Ducted systems for the new estates, sized for valley heat
- Splits and multi-splits for heritage and older homes
- Servicing and repairs on any system, from Kurri Kurri to Branxton
- Commercial work for Maitland and Cessnock businesses
What we do here
The jobs we do
every week around Maitland
Ducted in the new estates
Thornton, Chisholm, Gillieston Heights, Aberglasslyn, Rutherford, Cliftleigh and Huntlee: single-storey homes with good roof space, where a zoned ducted system covers the whole house and usually goes in on one day.
Explore ductedSplits for heritage Maitland
Lorn, Morpeth, East Maitland and the older streets of Central Maitland, where high ceilings and heritage frontages call for well-placed wall units or a multi-split with the outdoor unit tucked out of sight.
Explore multi-splitHeating that actually heats
Valley winters are cold. Reverse-cycle systems sized for heating as well as cooling, and repairs on the ones that give up in the first cold snap, from Kurri Kurri to Cessnock and Branxton.

“Don’t go anywhere else but TOZER.” Mrs Smythe · Beresfield
Our approach
Six steps,
every single job
One split system or a whole-home ducted install, the job runs the same way. That is what makes a five-year workmanship warranty easy to put in writing.
Measured in person
Greg or Shaun visits your home or site, checks the rooms, roof space, power and where the outdoor unit can live. No sizing off a floor plan alone.
A fixed written quote
You get the system, the brand, the price and what is included, in writing. If something is not in the quote, you will not be charged for it later.
Booked, stocked, ready
Units and ducting come from our own Beresfield warehouse, so the install date we give you is the date we turn up, not the date the supplier delivers.
Installed by our own crews
Trained in-house, in TOZER uniform, floor mats down and taped. Neat penetrations, sealed and capped, and the site swept before the van leaves.
Commissioned and checked
Every system is run on heating and cooling, pressures and temperatures checked, and signed off against our completion checklist before we hand over the controller.
Backed for five years
A 5-year workmanship warranty on top of the manufacturer's warranty, honoured by our own service department. Call the same office that installed it.
Maitland questions

Maitland customers
More on the FAQ page, or call 02 4933 3522.
Ask us directlyDo I need a bigger system in Maitland than on the coast?
Often, yes. Without the sea breeze, Maitland afternoons run hotter and the load on the house is higher, and winter mornings need real heating capacity too. We size for the valley, not off a coastal rule of thumb, which is why Greg or Shaun measure every job in person.
We are building in Chisholm or Huntlee. When should we call?
Ideally before the frame is up, so the ducting and the outdoor unit position can be planned with the builder. If the house is already built, that is fine too; most new-estate homes have the roof space for a ducted install in a day.
Can you put air conditioning in a heritage home in Lorn or Morpeth?
Yes. We keep the outdoor unit off the street frontage, choose indoor units and positions that suit high ceilings and ornate cornices, and run pipework where it will not show. We have done a lot of them.
How far up the valley do you go?
Through Kurri Kurri, Cessnock and the wine country to Branxton and Greta on this number, and Singleton and the Upper Hunter on our Singleton page. If you are between the two, call either number and Lee will sort it.
Is Beresfield really that close?
Yes. Our warehouse and showroom at 69 Elwell Close, Beresfield, is about ten minutes from Maitland and on the way to Thornton, so a Maitland job is stocked and staffed from just down the road.
Do you service systems in Maitland that someone else installed?
Yes, any ducted, split or multi-split system, whoever installed it. Book through the Maitland number and the service desk will find the first available technician in the area.
