My TOZER team were on time, courteous, put down and taped floor mats, tidied up and swept the floor when finished. They explained what was happening and answered my questions.
Whole-home comfort
Ducted air conditioning Newcastle & the Hunter
One quiet unit in the roof, every room zoned, the whole house on one controller. Designed around your floor plan by the people who will install it, and backed for five years.
- Family-run
- 5-year workmanship warranty
- Lic AU13377
Why ducted
The whole house,
not just one room
A ducted system puts one indoor unit out of sight in the roof space and runs insulated ducting to a discreet outlet in every room you choose. No wall units, no outdoor unit under every window, and no arguing over which room gets the cool air.
The part that decides whether you love your ducted system or resent the power bill is the design. Get the zoning right and you only ever run the rooms you are in: bedrooms overnight, living areas through the day. Get the sizing wrong and the system either struggles on a 40-degree afternoon or short-cycles and costs more than it should.
That is why Greg or Shaun do the site measure in person rather than quoting off a floor plan. They check the roof space, the ceiling heights, which way the house faces, where the return air can go and where the outdoor unit can sit without bothering you or the neighbours. Then you get a fixed, written quote for a system sized to your home, not a generic package.
- Every room zoned, so you only cool or heat the spaces in use
- One quiet outdoor unit, no wall units in the living areas
- Reverse cycle: cooling in summer, heating through a Hunter winter
- Installed by our own trained crews, usually in one to two days
What you get
What goes into
a TOZER ducted install
Every item below is in the written quote. If it is not on the quote, you will not be paying for it on the day.
A zoned design
Living, sleeping and work zones laid out around how your family actually uses the house, so the system never runs rooms nobody is in.
An inverter outdoor unit
Sized to the home, from Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic or Mitsubishi Electric. Inverter units ramp up and down instead of switching on and off, which is what keeps the running cost down.
Insulated ducting
Properly insulated, properly sealed ducting from our own warehouse stock. Leaky or thin ducting is the most common reason a ducted system underperforms.
Return air and filtration
A return-air grille positioned where it works quietly, with a filter you can actually reach to clean. We show you how before we leave.
Zone control you understand
A wall controller with the zones named the way you talk about the rooms. Wi-Fi control where the brand offers it, so the house is cool before you get home.
Commissioning and hand-over
Run on heating and cooling, airflow balanced across every outlet, checked against our completion checklist, then a walk-through of the controller with you.
Our approach
Six steps,
every single job
One split system or a whole-home ducted install, the job runs the same way. That is what makes a five-year workmanship warranty easy to put in writing.
Measured in person
Greg or Shaun visits your home or site, checks the rooms, roof space, power and where the outdoor unit can live. No sizing off a floor plan alone.
A fixed written quote
You get the system, the brand, the price and what is included, in writing. If something is not in the quote, you will not be charged for it later.
Booked, stocked, ready
Units and ducting come from our own Beresfield warehouse, so the install date we give you is the date we turn up, not the date the supplier delivers.
Installed by our own crews
Trained in-house, in TOZER uniform, floor mats down and taped. Neat penetrations, sealed and capped, and the site swept before the van leaves.
Commissioned and checked
Every system is run on heating and cooling, pressures and temperatures checked, and signed off against our completion checklist before we hand over the controller.
Backed for five years
A 5-year workmanship warranty on top of the manufacturer's warranty, honoured by our own service department. Call the same office that installed it.

Is ducted right
for your home?
Ducted is the best whole-home answer we know of, but it is not the right answer for every house. Here is how Greg and Drew think about it before they recommend it.
Ducted makes sense when
- You want the whole house comfortable, not just the living room
- There is usable roof space for the indoor unit and ducting
- You would rather not see wall units in every room
- You are building, renovating or replacing an old ducted system
Think twice when
- The roof space is too tight or a flat roof leaves nowhere to run ducting
- You really only need one or two rooms done, where a split system or multi-split is better value
- You are in a strata unit where the body corporate limits roof access
Not sure which side you fall on? That is exactly what the free site measure is for. If ducted is not the right call, we will say so and show you what is.

Honest advice
Free, whether you buy from us or not. If the system you asked for is the wrong one for the house, we will tell you and show you why.
Our own people
Installers and service technicians trained in-house and employed by TOZER. The crew that quotes, installs and services your system all sit in the same building.
Stocked, not waiting
Our own warehouse at Beresfield holds the units and ducting, so installs are booked against stock on the shelf, not a supplier's delivery run.
Local, answered by people
A local number for every region, answered in our Beresfield office by Lee and the service desk. You get a person who knows the job, not a queue.
Preferred warranty agents for
Not just the brands we sell: the brands that trust us to honour their warranties. We also install Mitsubishi Electric. Compare the brands.
Ducted questions
Asked at every
site measure
The questions Greg and Drew answer most weeks. If yours is not here, the full FAQ page goes deeper, or just call.
Ask us directlyHow long does a ducted installation take?
Most single-storey homes are done in a day. A larger home, a two-storey layout or a tricky roof space can take up to two days. We tell you the number of days in the quote, and because the unit and ducting come from our own warehouse, the date we book is the date we turn up.
Will a ducted system fit in my roof?
Usually, yes, but it is the first thing Greg or Shaun check at the site measure. The indoor unit needs enough clearance to sit level and be serviced, and the ducting needs room to run to each outlet without being crushed. Cathedral ceilings, flat roofs and very shallow pitches are the ones to watch. If it will not fit, we will tell you and look at a multi-split instead.
What is zoning, and how many zones do I need?
Zoning splits the house into areas you can switch on and off independently, so overnight you might run only the bedrooms and through the day only the living zone. Most family homes suit three or four zones. The right number depends on how the house is used, which is why we ask about your routine before we design it.
Is ducted air conditioning expensive to run?
It does not have to be. The three things that blow out the running cost are an oversized system, poor zoning and leaky ducting, and all three are design and install decisions. A correctly sized inverter system with sensible zoning, set between 20 and 24 degrees in summer, is very economical for the comfort you get across a whole house.
Which ducted brands do you install?
Daikin, Fujitsu and Panasonic, which we are preferred warranty agents for, and Mitsubishi Electric. We stock them because they hold up in Hunter summers and because their warranties are ones we can honour in-house. We will recommend the brand that fits the house and the budget rather than pushing one range.
Can you replace an old ducted system and reuse the ducting?
Yes, replacements are a big part of what we do. Whether the existing ducting is worth keeping depends on its condition and insulation, which we inspect at the measure. Old, thin or leaking ducting gets replaced, because a new outdoor unit pushing air through tired ducting is money wasted.
What warranty do I get?
Two warranties. The manufacturer's warranty on the equipment, five years parts and labour on the residential ranges we install, plus TOZER's own 5-year workmanship warranty on the installation. Because we are the warranty agent for Daikin, Fujitsu and Panasonic, any claim is handled by our service department rather than a call centre.
