Who we are

This privacy policy is issued by Tozer Air Conditioning & Electrical (ABN 75 512 852 164), trading as TOZER Air Conditioning ("TOZER", "we", "us" or "our"), of 69 Elwell Close, Beresfield NSW 2322. It explains how we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). It applies to information collected through this website (tozerair.com.au), by phone, by email, in our showrooms and in the course of quoting, installing, servicing and repairing air conditioning systems.

What we collect

We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide our services. Depending on how you deal with us, this may include:

• Your name, phone number, email address and postal address
• The address of the property where work is to be carried out, and details about that property relevant to the job (for example, its layout, existing equipment and access)
• Details of the systems we quote, install, service or repair for you, including make, model, serial numbers and service history
• Payment and billing details needed to invoice you and process payment
• Strata, landlord or property manager details where relevant
• Records of our communications with you, including enquiries submitted through this website
• If you apply for a job with us, your application, résumé, qualifications, licences and referee details

We do not ask for sensitive information (such as health information) unless it is relevant to the work, for example where you tell us about a medical need for climate control, and then only with your consent.

How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you when you call us, email us, submit a form on this website, visit a showroom, accept a quote or engage us to carry out work. We may also collect it from a builder, property manager, strata manager, landlord or manufacturer where they engage us on your behalf or refer a warranty matter to us. If we receive personal information we did not ask for and could not have collected lawfully, we will destroy or de-identify it.

• Schedule and carry out installation, servicing and repair work
• Process warranty claims with manufacturers on your behalf

• Keep records of the systems we have worked on, so we can service and support them in future

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose it to:

• Manufacturers and their warranty departments (including Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic and Mitsubishi Electric) where needed to register equipment or process a warranty claim
• Suppliers, licensed electricians and other trades engaged by us to complete your job
• Our accountants, IT providers, software platforms (such as job management, invoicing and customer relationship systems) and other service providers who help us run the business, on terms that require them to protect your information
• Payment processors and, where necessary, debt collection agencies
• Government agencies, regulators, courts or law enforcement where required or authorised by law

Some of our service providers store data on servers located outside Australia. Where that occurs we take reasonable steps to ensure the provider handles your information in a manner consistent with the APPs.

Website, cookies and analytics

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and to understand how visitors use the site, including through analytics and advertising tools such as Google Analytics and Meta (Facebook) tools. This information is generally aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can control cookies through your browser settings, although some features of the site may not work without them. Forms on this website are submitted to our office and stored in our customer management system.

How we protect it

Records relating to installed equipment and warranties are kept for the life of the warranty and for the period required by law. We may need to verify your identity before releasing information, and in limited circumstances permitted by law we may refuse access, in which case we will tell you why.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first using the details below and we will investigate and respond.
