My TOZER team were on time, courteous, put down and taped floor mats, tidied up and swept the floor when finished. They explained what was happening and answered my questions.

Singleton & Upper Hunter
Sized for
40-degree days
Singleton regularly runs five or six degrees hotter than Newcastle in summer and drops below zero on winter mornings. A system sized for the coast will run flat out and still not get there. We size every valley system for the valley.
That means Greg or Shaun measure in person, look at the orientation and the roof insulation, and pick a capacity that copes with a week of 40-degree afternoons without running at its limit, and heats the house properly on a frosty July morning. It also means choosing units that are rated for high ambient temperatures, because not every model is.
Singleton and the Upper Hunter are a mix of established brick homes in Singleton Heights and Hunterview, older weatherboards in the town centre, new estates at Gowrie and Wattle Ponds, rural properties on acreage, and businesses on John Street and the industrial estates that need reliable commercial cooling. Our crews make the trip from Beresfield every week, with the units on the van rather than on back order. Every install carries our 5-year workmanship warranty.
- Systems sized and rated for valley heat and winter frost
- Ducted, split and multi-split for town, estate and rural homes

Our approach
Six steps,
every single job
One split system or a whole-home ducted install, the job runs the same way. That is what makes a five-year workmanship warranty easy to put in writing.
Measured in person
Greg or Shaun visits your home or site, checks the rooms, roof space, power and where the outdoor unit can live. No sizing off a floor plan alone.
A fixed written quote
You get the system, the brand, the price and what is included, in writing. If something is not in the quote, you will not be charged for it later.
Booked, stocked, ready
Units and ducting come from our own Beresfield warehouse, so the install date we give you is the date we turn up, not the date the supplier delivers.
Installed by our own crews
Trained in-house, in TOZER uniform, floor mats down and taped. Neat penetrations, sealed and capped, and the site swept before the van leaves.
Commissioned and checked
Every system is run on heating and cooling, pressures and temperatures checked, and signed off against our completion checklist before we hand over the controller.
Backed for five years
A 5-year workmanship warranty on top of the manufacturer's warranty, honoured by our own service department. Call the same office that installed it.
Singleton questions
Asked by
valley customers
More on the FAQ page, or call 02 6572 1522.
Ask us directlyDo you really come out to Singleton and Muswellbrook?
Yes, every week. Singleton has had its own TOZER number for years and our crews know the run from Beresfield well. Muswellbrook, Denman and Scone are covered on the same number.
Why does my current system struggle on the hottest days?
Most often because it was sized for a milder climate or by a rule of thumb, and it is running at its limit on a 40-degree afternoon. Sometimes the outdoor unit is in full western sun or clogged with dust. A measure and a look at the outdoor unit will tell us which, and whether it is a service, a repair or a replacement.
Is there a travel charge to Singleton?
An install is quoted as a whole, so there is no separate travel line. A standard service is a set price, and breakdown calls carry a set call-out fee, both listed under service pricing. We are honest about that up front.
Does valley dust affect the system?
It does, especially near the mines and on rural properties. Dust loads the outdoor coil and the return-air filter, which is why we position units thoughtfully and recommend a regular service with a coil clean. Cleaning the return-air filter yourself between services helps a lot.
Can you do a rural property on tank power or with limited supply?
We will assess the supply at the measure and tell you what the house can support. Inverter systems draw far less than older units, and if the supply needs upgrading we tell you before anything is booked, not on the day.
How quickly can you get to a breakdown in Singleton?
Outside peak summer, usually within a few days. In a heatwave, call the Singleton number early and the service desk will get you the first available technician on the valley run.
