My TOZER team were on time, courteous, put down and taped floor mats, tidied up and swept the floor when finished. They explained what was happening and answered my questions.

Air conditioning servicing Newcastle & the Hunter
A proper service is a checklist, not a quick filter rinse. Our own service department goes through every part of the system, on heating and cooling, and tells you honestly what it found.

Why bother
The cheapest year
it will ever have
An air conditioner is the hardest-working appliance in a Hunter home. It pulls air, dust, pollen and moisture through itself for hundreds of hours a year, and it does it in a roof space or on an outside wall where nobody looks at it.
Left alone, the coils clog, the drain silts up, the refrigerant charge drifts and the system quietly starts working harder to do less. You notice it first on the power bill, then as a musty smell, then as water on the floor or a unit that has stopped cooling on the hottest day of the year. Every one of those is cheaper to prevent than to fix.
A TOZER service is done by our own technicians, not a subcontractor, working through the same checklist on every visit. We service all ducted, split and multi-split systems across the brands we install and most of the ones we do not, and because we are the warranty agent for Daikin, Fujitsu and Panasonic, a regular service also keeps your manufacturer's warranty conditions intact.
- Every system checked on both heating and cooling
- Coils, filters, drains, refrigerant, controls and safeties, all on the checklist
- Our own service department, booked from our Beresfield office
- Honest advice on the interval that suits your system and your home
The checklist
What a TOZER service
actually includes
This is the same list our technicians work through on a five-year-old split in a bedroom and a ducted system across a whole house.
Coils and filters
Condenser and evaporator coils inspected and cleaned, filters cleaned or replaced, so the system moves the air it was designed to move.
Refrigerant, pressures and temperatures
Refrigerant charge checked against the manufacturer's figures, with operating pressures and supply-air temperatures recorded on heating and cooling.
Motors, bearings and fans
Fan motors and bearings checked for wear and noise, blades cleaned and balanced. The part of the system most likely to fail loudly in January.
Condensate drain
The drain line cleared and tested. A blocked drain is the number one cause of water dripping from an indoor unit, and it is excluded from most warranties.
Wiring, relays and safeties
Wiring, relays and contactors inspected, controls and safety devices tested, thermostat and sensors verified so the system responds the way you set it.
Full run test and report
The system run through a full cycle on heating and cooling, and you get a plain-English rundown of what we found and anything worth watching.

How often
The right interval
for your system
There is no single right answer. Our technicians look at how hard the system works, where it lives and what is in the air around it, and recommend an interval to suit.
Most homes: once a year
A family home running the system through summer and winter is well served by an annual service, ideally in spring before the heat arrives. You clean the filters yourself in between.
Dusty, coastal or heavy-use: more often
Homes near the beach, on a dirt road, with pets, or with a system running most of the day may need a visit every six months. Salt air is hard on outdoor coils from Nelson Bay to the Central Coast.
Deep clean and sanitise
For systems with a musty smell or visible mould on the indoor unit, we offer a deeper clean that strips the indoor coil, fan barrel and drain tray and sanitises them. Ask for it when you book if the unit smells when it starts up.
Commercial systems
Shops, offices, hotels and restaurants run their systems far harder than a home does. We set up a scheduled maintenance program for commercial customers so nothing is left to chance in trading hours.

Honest advice
Free, whether you buy from us or not. If the system you asked for is the wrong one for the house, we will tell you and show you why.
Our own people
Installers and service technicians trained in-house and employed by TOZER. The crew that quotes, installs and services your system all sit in the same building.
Stocked, not waiting
Our own warehouse at Beresfield holds the units and ducting, so installs are booked against stock on the shelf, not a supplier's delivery run.
Local, answered by people
A local number for every region, answered in our Beresfield office by Lee and the service desk. You get a person who knows the job, not a queue.
Preferred warranty agents for
Not just the brands we sell: the brands that trust us to honour their warranties. We also install Mitsubishi Electric. Compare the brands.
Servicing questions
What people ask
when they book
More on the FAQ page, or call the service desk on 02 4951 4522 during office hours.
Book a serviceDo you service systems you did not install?
Yes. We service all ducted, split and multi-split systems, whoever installed them, across the major brands. If it is a brand or model we cannot support properly, we will tell you before we book rather than after.
Does regular servicing really affect my warranty?
It does. Manufacturer warranties on the brands we install exclude faults caused by lack of maintenance, blocked drains, neglected filters and corrosion. A service record from a licensed technician is what shows the system was looked after if a claim is ever needed.
How long does a service take?
Around an hour for a split system and longer for a ducted system, depending on how many outlets and zones there are and how accessible the indoor unit is. A deep clean and sanitise takes longer again. We will give you a realistic window when we book.
What can I do myself between services?
Clean the filters. On a split, slide them out and rinse them every month or so in summer. On a ducted system, the return-air filter does the same job. Keep plants and clutter clear of the outdoor unit, and run the system for a few minutes in economy mode occasionally through the off-season.
What if you find a fault during the service?
We tell you what it is, what it will cost to fix and whether it is urgent, then let you decide. Small fixes can often be done on the spot from the van. Anything larger is quoted in writing, and if it is a warranty matter on a brand we are agent for, we lodge it for you.
Do you offer a maintenance plan for businesses?
Yes. Commercial customers get a scheduled program with visits set to suit trading hours and the demands on the system. Ask us about it on the commercial page.
